Chief Education Director
I am Rahsaan "Ms. Rae" Jarrell, an educator and consultant born and raised in Englewood on the Southside of Chicago, IL. As a proud mother of two adult children, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, a Master's in Instructional Technology, a second Master's in Public Administration, and I am a National Board Certified Teacher. I also hold endorsements in Mathematics, Social Science, Technology Specialist, and Language Arts. With 25 years of experience teaching K-8 general education, specializing in 3rd - 8th grade math, I have a strong foundation in instructional technology and curriculum development.
My extensive experience includes roles as a Technology Coordinator, where I managed school-wide technology, provided professional development on CPS software, coordinated district-wide computerized assessments, and delivered parent computer skills training. As an Instructional Leader, Mentor, and Coach, I have guided educators on differentiated instruction, effective classroom management, and provided targeted feedback to enhance teaching practices and student engagement. I have developed and implemented tech-based assessment systems to optimize student evaluation and instructional strategies, and utilized multimedia teaching resources to enhance engagement and learning outcomes in distance education. My studies in public administration have enriched my understanding of relationship building, political awareness, collaborative strategies, and leadership practices, while my exploration of human capital management has broadened my skill set in nonprofit and community development contexts. My entrepreneurial spirit has driven me to expand my horizons beyond the classroom, successfully leveraging my skills as a travel agent, event planner, and consultant. My consulting, coaching, and tutoring business focuses on creating impactful programs for community and family engagement, behavior management in classrooms, and social-emotional learning (SEL) for both students and educators. I am dedicated to supporting educators in their professional growth and well-being, fostering positive learning environments. |
